World Animal Vaccination Day: Protecting animals and communities

Every year on April 20th, we celebrate World Animal Vaccination Day, a moment to highlight the vital role of vaccines in protecting animals’ health. It’s also an opportunity to recognize the veterinarians who work every day to keep animals healthy.

Whether it’s on a farm or in a clinic, vaccines help prevent disease, protect animal welfare, and support public health.

Vaccination keeps farming sustainable

In ruminant farming, vaccines are essential. They help animals stay healthy, while reducing the need for antibiotics. This benefits not only the animals but also people and the planet. At the same time, vaccination is key for the sustainability and future of the farm.

At Ceva, we are committed to developing effective vaccines and supporting veterinarians with the tools they need to care for animals.

Facing new threats: EHD in cattle

Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) is an emerging viral disease in Europe that affects ruminants. It can cause severe symptoms and significant economic losses on farms.

To help control its spread, Ceva introduces HEPIZOVAC, the first vaccine available in Europe against EHD serotype 8.

Vaccination has a key role safeguarding animal health.

Veterinarians: our partners in prevention

Vaccination only works when applied correctly, and veterinarians are essential partners, ensuring vaccines are used at the right time and in the right way, monitoring herd health, and guiding farmers in making the best decisions for their animals.

At Ceva, we are proud to stand beside veterinarians and support the science behind animal vaccination.
