Background and objective

It was hypothesized that a reduced dose of D-cloprostenol administered at progesterone device removal would not compromise pregnancy per AI in Nelore cows submitted to fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) protocols. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a reduced dose of D- loprostenol (Luteglan®, Ceva Animal Health) administered at the time of progesterone device removal would affect pregnancy per AI in Nelore cows submitted to FTAI protocols.

Reduced D-Cloprostenol Dose and Reproductive Performance in Nelore Cows results

Conclusions

Reducing the dose of D-cloprostenol (Luteglan®, Ceva Animal Health) administered at progesterone device removal did not compromise follicular development, estrus expression, pregnancy per AI, or pregnancy maintenance in Nelore cows submitted to FTAI protocols. These findings support the use of the reduced dose as an effective alternative to the conventional dose under the conditions of this study.
